We're not big on rules, but we have guidelines for the group . .. . . to protect the confidences of our members.
1. Smile! Mind your manners! Be considerate of all.
2. Members are 18 years of age or older, primarily single and have herpes or HPV or their life is being affected by these in any way. (humapapa..n).
3. Events are planned as "Closed" events and are limited to those that are affected by herpes/HPV in any way. (This is not to be rude, we plan to avoid situations where a member's 'secret' would be discovered by another member's neighbor or work associate - without the choice of telling this 'guest'.) Please be discrete about discussing private issues at events in public places. If a member raises private subjects, please keep the discussion private.
4. Ours is a social group, yet also serves an educational and supportive role. Most members are open to share information, experiences, and references which will benefit other members.
5. Access to any lists is limited to the OmahaPALS Administrators. Member contact information will never be released by the group.
6. If you have an idea for an event, let us hear about it. Your help to organize and/or host an event would be appreciated, and is fun.
7. If you know someone else who 'qualifies', please invite them to check us out! Recruiting help and suggestions are always welcome and needed.
8. If you are interested in seeing someone in the group socially, outside of group events, it is your responsibility to ask them. OmahaPALS takes no responsibility for relationships developed through participation in the group.
9. An individual will not be excluded from the group except for illegal activity during group activities. In that case, you will be asked to leave. Any rude or disrespectful activity at a OmahaPALS function is also likely to raise a request for your departure.
10. Although we have no ban on picture taking, please use discretion when taking pictures. Please ask whether a member is interested in having their picture taken.
